Why can't I edit a file?

Online editing via Office 365 is available only when specific conditions are met.

Cause	What to do
You have Read-Only access	Read-Only permission does not allow editing. Only the sender can change your permission to Editor.
You have the Reader role	The Reader role is view-only. You cannot edit files under any circumstances.
The file format doesn't support online editing	Office 365 supports DOCX, XLSX, PPTX. PDFs, images, and other formats cannot be edited online.
A tag is blocking editing	In some cases tags can restrict editing too. Check with your administrator.
