What's the difference between Read-Only and Editor access?

Your access type determines exactly what you can do with a shared file — view only, or view and edit.

When someone shares a file with you, they assign one of two access types. That choice controls what you're allowed to do with the document.

Permission

What you can do

Read-Only

You can open and view the file on the platform. You cannot edit it, download it, or print it.

Editor

You can edit the file in real time using the integrated Office 365. You can also download it, provided tags and company settings allow it.

How to identify your access type

Each file in the Received section displays an icon next to its name:

  • Yellow eye → Read-Only
  • Green pencil → Editor

⚠️ Warning: Even with Editor access, some actions may be blocked by tags applied to the file. A 'no download' tag prevents downloading regardless of your permission level. Tags always take absolute priority.
