How do I set an expiry date on a shared file?

Add a time limit to a share so access automatically ends on the date you choose — either at the moment of sharing or afterward.

An expiry date limits how long a recipient can access a file. Once the date passes, the file is no longer viewable by that person.

Setting an expiry date when sharing

  1. Open the sharing panel.
  2. Click Add expiry date.
  3. Select the expiry date.
  4. Click Share to complete.

If your admin has configured a mandatory expiry policy, you won't be able to set a date beyond the maximum allowed by that policy.

Changing or removing the expiry later

  1. Go to the Shared section.
  2. Select the file → click Manage access in the Details panel.
  3. Edit or remove the expiry date for the relevant recipient.

💡 Tip: Expiry dates are per recipient — you can set different deadlines for different people on the same file.
