How do I get an AI-generated summary of a document?
AI Summary reads the document and gives you a concise overview — or answers a specific question about its content, so you don't have to read the whole thing.
AI Summary generates a text summary of the selected document. You can also direct the request with a specific question to get a focused answer on one aspect of the content.
How to use it
- Select the document → ⋮ menu → AIGrant → AI Summary.
- A dedicated window opens.
- Type your request in the text field (e.g., 'Summarize the main points' or 'What is the total contract value?').
- Click Send.
- The AI analyzes the document and generates the answer in the same window.
💡 Tip: You don't have to ask for a full summary — you can ask very specific questions. Think of it like asking a well-read assistant who has read the whole document for you.
Examples
- Long contracts: 'What are the termination clauses?'
- Technical reports: 'What are the main conclusions?'
- Internal policies: 'What does it say about travel expenses?'
AI Summary is only available if you have download permission on the file. If you don't see the option, your access level doesn't allow it.
